What we timed
A wall-clock test would mostly measure internet speed, login state, and how quickly someone finds a menu. Instead, this comparison counts active stages from a prepared photo to the first usable loop. The task is deliberately small: animate one soft area, preview it, and save something ready to share.
We used the web versions and their standard workflows, with no template hunting or advanced cleanup. This is not a rendering benchmark. It answers a more useful question: how much editor work sits between the photo and the result?
Purupuru Maker: four focused stages
The path is image, selection, preview, export. The source stays in the browser, so there is no upload wait before editing. The preview is part of the same studio rather than a separate generated project. For a selective wobble, this is the shortest route of the three.
That speed comes from a narrow feature set. You cannot build a multi-scene edit, add a music track, or arrange a complex timeline. If the job grows beyond one looping reaction, the time saved at the start may be lost when you move the result into another editor.

Ezgif is very fast when your animation frames already exist: upload them, set delay and order, make the GIF, then download or optimize it. From one still photo, however, you must prepare the changing frames elsewhere or choose a whole-image effect. It does not offer the same direct local selection-and-deform workflow.
