A preset is a motion grammar, not a finished answer. It decides whether pixels travel softly in two directions, drift sideways, hop vertically, roll in a path, breathe through scale, or vibrate chaotically. The mask and fine-tune controls then decide how strongly that grammar appears in your image.

Preset overview and neutral test settings

Use one round mascot or pudding image, paint a broad center at 70% strength with a 70-pixel brush, and leave its base quiet. Begin at speed 1.0, amplitude 14, damping 0.50, gravity direction 90, and gravity strength 0.20. These are comparison settings, not a universal optimum.

The six presets in detail

Jelly — soft, rounded, and recognizably purupuru

Jelly combines movement across two axes into a smooth elastic loop. It is the most forgiving starting point for pudding, cheeks, soft toys, bellies, and round illustrated shapes. Try speed 1.0, amplitude 16, and damping 0.45. GIF brief: the center travels visibly while the base remains planted and the outline returns without a snap.

Failure case: high amplitude on a narrow mask makes a bubble-like patch detach. Enlarge the painted area, soften its edge, and lower amplitude before changing speed.

Sway — directional movement for long flexible details

Sway favors side-to-side travel, making it useful for hair, ribbons, sleeves, hanging signs, plants, and tails seen from the side. Start around speed 0.8, amplitude 10, and damping 0.60. GIF brief: the free end crosses the centerline slowly while the root stays nearly still, suggesting wind or a gentle turn.

Failure case: painting the root at full strength makes the entire feature slide. Erase the anchor and use a lower-strength bridge toward it.

Bounce — a clear spring beat with vertical weight

Bounce gives an object a readable up-and-down response. Ears, tails, mascots, charms, badges, and product callouts can use it when one distinct beat matters more than softness. Try speed 1.1, amplitude 13, damping 0.55, and point gravity toward the implied resting surface. GIF brief: the subject rises, settles, and repeats without drifting sideways.

Failure case: low damping and high amplitude create endless pogo motion. Raise damping first, then reduce travel until the attachment looks firm.

Wave — rolling motion for flowing materials

Wave follows a more circular or rolling path than Sway. It suits fabric folds, water-like shapes, long hair sections, magical energy, and loose outlines. Begin with speed 0.7, amplitude 11, and damping 0.55. GIF brief: movement appears to travel around the painted region rather than shifting it as one rigid piece.

Failure case: a busy mask plus high speed produces visual noise. Simplify the selected region and slow the cycle before increasing movement.

Pulse — scale-based breathing around a stable center

Pulse makes a selected region expand and settle, which reads as breathing, pride, anticipation, or a gentle heartbeat. It works on plush toys, round icons, sleeping characters, and soft product badges. Try speed 0.9, amplitude 8, and damping 0.65. GIF brief: the silhouette grows slightly and returns while the image center remains visually calm.

Failure case: painted lettering changes width and becomes hard to read. Erase text or lower its mask strength even when the surrounding badge pulses.

Quake — intense vibration for impact and panic

Quake uses quick irregular movement to imply a hit, alarm, surprise, nervousness, or comic emphasis. It is intentionally less smooth than the other presets. Start with speed 1.7, amplitude 6–8, and damping 0.30. GIF brief: one prop or character vibrates sharply while the caption and background stay perfectly readable.

Failure case: shaking the full frame at maximum amplitude exhausts the viewer and blurs the joke. Mask the impact subject only and reduce travel.

How speed, amplitude, damping, and gravity change a preset

Speed ranges from 0.4 to 2.5 and changes how often the motion cycles. Amplitude ranges from 2 to 42 and controls travel distance. Damping ranges from 0 to 0.9 and calms spring response. Gravity direction runs through 360 degrees, while gravity strength ranges from 0 to 1. Change one value, watch two loops, and return it before testing another.

A slow Quake can become a nervous tremble; a fast Pulse can feel excited; a highly damped Bounce becomes a polite nod. Direction adds material logic: downward for pudding on a plate, diagonal for windblown fabric, upward for a floating charm. The preset name is a starting point, not a rule about mood.

Export comparison and selection checklist

Export the same mask and duration in GIF, MP4, and WebM before finalizing a reusable preset recipe. Record the actual results rather than assuming: GIF size [需要实测], MP4 size [需要实测], WebM size [需要实测]. Also compare color shimmer, silhouette stability, and how each platform crops or loops the file.

Choose the preset whose motion matches the imagined material at phone size. Keep the anchor fixed, reduce amplitude before adding speed, and save extreme Quake for moments that genuinely need impact. If two presets seem equal, the quieter one is usually easier to reuse across chats and feeds.
